VidaSEguros at African Energy Week 2026

Protecting the people who drive the energy sector.

From 12 to 16 October, we took part in African Energy Week 2026 in Cape Town, with an offering focused on the people who sustain business activity. VidaSEguros brought protection and financial planning solutions for workers and their families to the event, sharing our experience as a life insurer in Equatorial Guinea with the energy sector.

VidaSEguros team at African Energy Week 2026.

Our presence had a clear purpose: to open a conversation about the place of employee protection in a company’s plans. When we talk about growth, we also talk about the future of the people who help make it possible.

An Equatorial Guinean offering at an international gathering

At the Invest in Equatorial Guinea pavilion, our Deputy Managing Director and Commercial Director shared VidaSEguros solutions with visitors from companies operating in the country.

Taking part alongside other companies in this space enabled us to listen, introduce our offering and connect with sector professionals. Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of State for Hydrocarbons, Mining and Electricity also took part in the event, as part of an agenda devoted to the continent’s energy future.

For us, being in Cape Town was an opportunity to bring a local perspective to that conversation: the protection needs of workers and their families should form part of long-term business decisions.

Life, retirement and education: a long-term view of protection

During African Energy Week, we presented three types of solution: group life insurance, supplementary retirement plans and education insurance. These areas connect working life with the different stages and responsibilities of family life.

Group life insurance allows an organisation to plan protection for its employees under a group policy. Supplementary retirement provision addresses planning for the future after working life. Education insurance places children’s education within that family planning.

Every company has a different workforce and different needs. That is why the conversation must start with its own circumstances: whom it wants to protect, for what purpose and what terms it needs to consider. The scope of each solution is defined in the relevant proposal and policy terms.

Employee wellbeing is also part of strategy

In the Oil & Gas sector, protection and employee benefits deserve a place in the conversation about talent. Our participation highlighted how life insurance and financial planning solutions can complement Human Resources policies and add value to the relationship between a company and its employees.

This is not about presenting the same programme to every organisation. It is about understanding their priorities and considering protection suited to their workforce. At VidaSEguros, we want to support that dialogue through personal service and knowledge of the Equatorial Guinean context.

Continuing the conversation from Malabo

African Energy Week enabled us to present our offering and establish contacts with energy sector professionals and companies. Our invitation remains open to organisations wishing to explore protection options for their employees and their families.
